Heidelberg Osbraai

24 September is Heritage Day in South Africa.  It’s also probably my favourite day of the year, National Braai Day.  I went down to my home town of Heidelberg in the Garden Route for their “Osbraai” fundraiser and I can tell you it was “Os-some”!

Two whole oxen on the spit, close to 500kg’s of meat, 830 tickets sold, two live bands, friendly people and a whole lot of fun!  Here are some images I took of the Osbraai process, it started at 11pm Friday evening and the first guests started eating at 7pm on Saturday!

I for one cannot wait for next year!!

Now there is a decent amount of meat! My meat loving hubby would have been bouncing around with excitement!
    Have a happy day. :-)
