De-seeding a vanilla pod

I fell in love with vanilla pods the first day I tried them.  Vanilla essence just can’t compare!  Here is a quick and easy guide on how to get the seeds out.

Vanilla Pod

A pod contains one helluva lot of tiny seeds, which is what we are after.  Cut off the tips of the pod and split it in two like so.

The turn over one of the pieces, open side up.  Flatten the side of the pod and scrape out the inside with your knife.

Repeat that on the other part and you should end up with this on your knife.
